AMG fish egg sorter
Traditionally, the time-consuming task of sorting and quality
control of salmon or trout eggs is done manually, although machines are also used to remove dead eggs. Jobs that would previously have required tens of people to do can be done significantly quicker by the AGM Fish Egg Sorter, with more accurate results.
The AGM Fish Egg Sorter replaces existing automatic sorting technology and eliminates the need for additional manual sorting.
Due to the reduction of expensive manual hours sorting requires, the
finished product is ready for the market sooner. It all adds up to a great investment!
The machine takes two photos of each individual egg – one from
each side of a ratchet wheel. A computer assesses the quality of the
egg based on a number of criteria. Unfertilized yes/no, twin yes/no,
small-eyed, coagulations and, of course, dead eggs. This sorting
process is more accurate than any manual method. This means that the
sorted eggs are of a higher quality, and thereby reduces the risk of
diseases during production.
As the AGM Fish Egg Sorter works by computer analysis, it is easy to
extract reports and other statistical information, such as the number of eggs by quality class, size, etc. AquaGen was awarded the Aqua Nor 2007 innovation prize for the machine. AquaGen and Maskon (AGM) are now developing the concept under the brand name AGM Fish Egg Sorter.
